Privacy Policy

Why do we have a Privacy Policy?
We have developed this policy because we want you to feel confident about the privacy and security of your personal information. Redchilli takes all reasonable care to prevent any unauthorised access to your personal information.

When we refer to ‘personal information’ in this Privacy Policy, we mean information which identifies you as an individual, or is capable of doing so.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By visiting our website or using any of our services and continuing to do so you indicate your agreement to our use of your personal information as set out in this Privacy Policy.

What does this Privacy Policy cover?
This Privacy Policy only applies to how Redchilli deals with your personal information. It does not apply to any other company or to any other company’s websites even if you access them through Redchilli. If you disclose your personal information to other companies your information will be dealt with according to their privacy practices.

Your consent
Please note: in using the Redchilli web site, you consent to the collection and use of this information by Redchilli in the ways described below.

What personal information do we collect about you

Data collected by this site is used to:

– Take and fulfil customer orders
– Administer and enhance the site and service
– Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes

We may ask you for information to enable us to provide our services to you and we may collect this information by telephone, fax, e-mail, written correspondence or via our website. We may ask you for information including your name, address, contact telephone numbers and email address. We may also ask you for other information that relates to the products you are ordering.

Please also see ‘What information is Redchilli gathering about visitors to its website’ below.

We may also request your email address or mailing address for the purposes of adding you to our mailing list. We maintain a strict “no spam” policy that means we do not sell, rent, or otherwise give your email address to a third-party without your consent.

Redchilli will not send you email that you have not agreed to receive. If you are a member of our mailing list, you will be contacted occasionally with details of special offers, new products or services. You have the option of ‘unsubscribing’ from our mailing list at any time, thereby disabling any further such email communication from being sent to you.

What personal information do we collect about you from other companies and organisations?
We do not collect any personal information about you from other companies and organisations.

Does Redchilli share personal information with anyone else?
We do not share your personal information with other companies outside of Redchilli. However, we may provide information, in response to properly made requests, for the purposes of the prevention and detection of crime, and the apprehension or prosecution of offenders. We may also provide information for the purpose of safeguarding national security. In either case we do so in accordance with the Data Protection Act. We also provide information when required to do so by law, for example under a court order, or in response to properly made demands, under powers contained in legislation.

For how long does Redchilli keep personal information?
The time period for which we keep information varies according to what the information is used for. In some cases, there are legal requirements to keep data for a minimum period. Unless there is a specific legal requirement for us to keep the information, we will retain it for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected or for which it is to be further processed.

How Redchilli protects your personal information
We are serious about guarding the security of your personal information and the details of any transactions made. As required by the UK Data Protection Act 2018, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us, to prevent unauthorised access. Our security procedures mean that we may occasionally request proof of identity before we are able to disclose sensitive information to you. The Data Protection Act 2018 is the UK’s implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Redchilli’s Privacy Policy applies to information collected when you use our website
If you provide information via the “contact us” or any other interactive feature, you indicate your consent to our use of your personal data in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.

If you browse our website, we may gather information to help make your visit to our website more satisfying. However, this information will not identify you personally. (Please see “What about cookies” below for more information on how we do this).

Over and above what Redchilli does to safeguard your privacy and security online, there are a number of things you can do to protect yourself from Internet fraud:

Clear any cache so there is no record of any transactions left on screen – all popular browsers let you do this. We also recommend you then close your browser so any history of the session is cleared.

We collect information from visitors to our website to help us to make improvements to it and to the services we make available. We know, for instance, how many visitors there are, when they visited, for how long and to which areas of our website they went. We do not share this information with other companies. You or any other individual cannot be identified from the information we share as the data is aggregated and anonymised.

What about cookies?
A “cookie” is a text file which is allocated by our server to your personal computer (PC) when you visit our website. If you want to know more about cookies, please go to www.allaboutcookies.org which explains how cookies work and how you can manage their use.

A cookie cannot read data from your hard disk or read cookie files that may have been created from other sites.

Redchilli’s cookies do not collect any information regarding the use of your PC or your Internet browsing in any way.

How to disable cookies
All types of cookies can be removed from your PC but some significant features of the Redchilli website will be unavailable to you.

Your browser lets you choose whether to accept, not to accept, or to be warned before accepting cookies. Please see www.allaboutcookies.org for full details of how to disable cookies in all major web browsers. Your browser’s help feature will also show you how to disable cookies.

What information is Redchilli gathering about visitors to its website?
We collect information from visitors to our website to help us to make improvements to the website and to the services we make available. We know, for instance, how many visitors there are to our website, when they visited, for how long and to which areas of our website they went. We do not share this information with other companies.

Every computer connected to the internet is provided with a domain name and an IP address. When a visitor requests a page from within the Redchilli website, our web servers automatically identify and log the HTTP request that is made to our web server. This information reveals nothing personal about you. In fact, the only information that we automatically gather and log is as follows:

The IP address of the site that may have referred you.

– Your IP address
– The web page that you may have linked to us from, if any
– The product identifier for version and make of browser (e.g. Chrome)
– The Operating System platform that you may be running (e.g. Macintosh or Windows)
– Search words or terms that are passed from a search engine

There is absolutely nothing unusual about the information just described – the practice of collecting this data has been generally standardised by nearly every web server on the internet today.

We do not use any of this information to identify individuals visiting our website.

Will Redchilli disclose the information collected to Third Parties
Redchilli does not disclose customers’ information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.

Redchilli will disclose your personal information or any of its log file information only when required by law or in the good-faith belief that such actions are necessary to:

– Conform to the edicts of the law or comply with a legal process served on Redchilli
– Protect and defend the rights or property of Redchilli, or visitors to the Redchilli website
– Identify persons who may be violating the law, the legal notice, or the rights of third parties
– Co-operate with the investigations of purported unlawful activities

Redchilli uses reasonable precautions to keep the information disclosed to us secure. Furthermore, we are not responsible for any breach of security or for any actions of any third parties that receive the information. Where Redchilli also provides “links” to other web sites on the internet, we are not responsible for their Privacy Policies or how those web sites manage information about their users. We strongly urge you to check with those web sites to determine their Privacy Policy.

How to find out about changes to our Privacy Policy
We may change our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted on this page so that you are always aware of the information that we collect, how we use it, and the circumstances under which we disclose it.
