Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQ’s

Most Redchilli frames are produced to order. This allows you to select your preferred paint finish (where available) though this does take us a little time for us to produce. Therefore, delivery times are normally around 4-6 weeks for frameset production/delivery, though we will always keep you updated of order progress. The actual bike build process normally takes 1-2 days.

Where we have your required frame in stock, then most bikes can be built within 1-5 days, depending on our current build schedule and assuming we have all of your specific build information for stem length, stem height etc.

We sometimes have ex-display or ex-demo bikes for sale, but generally, every Redchilli is custom built for you.

Alongside our custom bike build option, we do list a range of “standard build” options. This is to serve as a guide with regard pricing, specification etc. If you were to select a standard build bike, we will still tailor the specification to suit you, so you can be assured that the gearing, crank length, handlebar width, stem length, stem height, saddle position and saddle height are all set up correctly to suit your discipline and style of riding.

Of course, you’re more than welcome. If your planned visit is to discuss a custom bike build, then we would ask that you contact us prior to your journey, so that we can then set a firm appointment and dedicate that time to you.

Yes indeed. Whatever remaining parts you may require, we can supply these to you at standard bike build pricing and then complete your new Redchilli.

We would be happy to strip down your existing bike and reuse any parts that are compatible with our frames. Please do bear in mind that some parts such as bottom brackets, headsets, brakes, cables, seatposts and handlebar tape may need to be purchased in order to fit your new Redchilli. We will always advise of the full cost for such parts prior to any work being carried out. We do not charge any extra for the strip down of your existing bike and for the build of your new frameset.

We certainly do. Please refer to our Custom Bike Fitting page for further details.

We offer a wide and flexible range for specialist road bike servicing and repairs. Please refer to our Servicing and Repairs page, or contact us to discuss.

Orders & Delivery

It is always best for you to come and pay us a visit so that we can discuss your build face to face, and allow you the opportunity to use or added service such as bike fitting and saddle fitment. We also make a pretty decent cuppa…. If however a personal visit is just not possible for you, then we would need to spend sometime with you, either via telephone or email, and ask you some questions about your physical build so that we can ensure that your bike is still built to your specific requirements.

All of our frames are available as frameset only options. Please refer to each frame product page that provides full details as to what is supplied.

We accept most major credit/debit cards, bank transfer, cash or cheque.

A 20% deposit is required to secure your frameset and to start the custom build process.

As a specialist custom bike builder, flexibility is a Redchilli strong point. We offer group discounts for cycle teams, clubs and cycle organisations and can supply frames or indeed complete bikes to your team colours. Please feel free to contact us for an initial consultation.

Once your frameset order has been confirmed and production has started, then unfortunately we are not able to amend your order. We aim to be as flexible as possible during your build process and in some instances, we may be able to change some individual components.

We can ship a Redchilli to almost every corner of the globe. Please feel free to contact us so that we can advise of shipping options.

Cycle 2 work

This will vary upon the actual provider and the rate of tax that you pay, though generally the savings are between 25-39%.

Your employer effectively remains the legal owner of the bike until the end of the lease agreement. At this point, your employer may either keep the bike, or sell this to you for a “nominal fee.” It is always best therefore to check this with your employer and ascertain their end of lease terms and conditions.

As a custom bike build specialist, this will vary. If your required frameset is in stock, then the build process can be as little as 7 days upon receipt of order voucher from your selected provider. If, however, you decide to go “full custom” and a frameset has to be produced to your specific requirements, then the lead time will be between 6-8 weeks generally, although please do bear in mind; there can sometimes be unforeseen production delays of which are beyond our control.

Only new bikes are available to purchase through any of the C2W schemes. Any bikes or ex-demo bikes that are listed as being on special offer, then these are not available through any scheme.

Once the full bike price and voucher value have been agreed, no other items may be added to the voucher. Any additional items would be viewed as a “general sale.”

You will need to contact Redchilli Bikes and confirm that you are in receipt of your voucher. We will also contact your voucher provider to ensure that the transaction is ready to proceed.

Yes, in order to secure any frameset for you, we have a standard 20% deposit and this is payable upon order confirmation. This will then be held as a “holding deposit” and once your bike is ready and the voucher has been redeemed, your deposit payment will then be refunded in full and this is normally within 7 days of cleared funds being received from your cycle scheme provider.
