As bikes continue to evolve, Redchilli is always aiming to be one step ahead of the evolution curve, and we are delighted to announce that we have 2 new handlebar designs due to launch during 2025. These 2 bar choices will bring you even greater levels of choice for your custom built Redchilli.
Full internal cable routing is now almost standard and with this, the popularity of the “one-piece” fully integrated handlebar/stem has pretty much become ingrained as part of a complete bike – well at least they have for a quality bike such as a Redchilli.
A one-piece bar/stem increases stiffness, allows for a fully integrated cockpit and let’s be honest, they do look good..!!
REDCHILLI IRB-V – FULLY INTEGRATED HANDLEBAR/STEM
Our new IRB-V handlebar not only looks good, but it has been well thought out, too. No matter whether you are a full on, hard as nails road racer, or a casual cyclist, IRB-V will not only improve the look of your bike, but this will also aid aero-dynamics allowing for improved air flow across the frontal area of the bike.
IRB-V has a 40mm riser stem, and so when sat atop a 10mm headset top cap, this can reduce the requirement for headset spacers or indeed negate any requirement completely. This riser brings in even more flexibility for effective handlebar height; not only helping those that race, but also those that may require additional front end height for use with our SR1 endurance bike.
REDCHILLI IRB-V – Specification and Sizing
There will be 2 versions for IRB-V: normal and super light though at just 290g approx, we expect the SL version to be the most popular.
IRB-V will be available in 3 bar widths: 37cm, 39cm and 41cm with these measurements being taken from centre-centre across the hoods. Each bar has a 2.4° flare and so the drops measure 40cm, 42cm and 44cm respectively.
IRB-V will be the perfect match for our FR1 and FR2 race frames, and also our SR1 endurance frame. The bar also comes with a universal computer mount for that final touch of sleekness.
RB-V will be an option for our FR1, FR2 and SR1 custom bike builds.
REDCHILLI IRB – FULLY INTEGRATED HANDLEBAR/STEM
The new norm for FR1, FR2 and SR1, IRB maintains a traditional bar/stem design and offers more flexibility in terms of bar width and stem sizing.
Perfectly suited to FR1, FR2 and SR1 road bikes, our IRB bar offers supreme levels of comfort and bike stability. As with IRB-V, this bar is a monocoque carbon construction, and you have the choice of either a matte or gloss carbon finish – the ideal way to perfectly complete your Redchilli custom bike build.
Our IRB bar is due to commence production very shortly and this will now become the standard bar for our FR1, FR2 and SR1 custom bike builds.
REDCHILLI IRB – SPECIFICATION AND SIZING
With bar width sizing starting from 36cm and stem length from 80mm, IRB offers a wide range of bar options and so there is sure to be a bar/stem combination that’s right for you.
Bar measurement is taken across the hoods, and so a 38cm bar (for example) will measure 38cm centre-centre across the hoods, and this flares outwards across the drops to 40cm centre-centre. The purpose for this; as more riders now tend to ride on the hoods, the narrower bar section helps to improve your aero efficiency. And when you then reposition to the drops, this helps to achieve better stability on the bike and this is, of course, the ideal place to be when descending as you retain full grip of the handlebar while also have maximum contact with brake levers.
