While January and February were both cold and wet, things have certainly picked up during March.

Here in Devon, we generally experience fairly mild winter months, though 2024/2025 brought heavy rainfall, high winds and our fair share of weekend storms. With prevailing winds coming in from the South West, we often face the brunt and anger of the Atlantic Ocean, as this rather large puddle of water flexes its muscle during the winter months.

All of this therefore is not exactly conducive to winter miles on our bikes, and it’s fair to say that 2025 did start a little more sedately here at Redchilli Towers. While we did have some Redchilli custom bike build orders to complete, the days were generally kept busy with servicing work in order to keep your bikes rolling. However, March finally arrived and for those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, this welcome month ushered in Spring Time and with it, some long awaited dry (if not rather chilly) weather.

And what does this mean? Better weather for riding bikes of course, and with this, Redchilli Bikes sprung into action with several bike builds, some of which are shown below.

Every Redchilli is built to customer order. What does this mean for you, exactly? Generally, large, global brands build bikes for the masses in a far away factory. These bikes are part built to generic sizes which means you get what they want you to have, so you have no real option for bar width, stem length, stem height, saddle preference, saddle position, crank length, chain rings, cassette ratios, wheelset options, tyre choice…. The list goes on. When you collect your bike therefore, you may later need to replace the saddle, tyres, stem, handlebars etc, and this all means additional cost.

So why not order direct with Redchilli Bikes and have all of these important elements provided for you at the point of the build process? Over a cup of coffee and a few chocolate biscuits, we will discuss your requirements in detail. Do you want a bike for road racing, sportive/endurance events, gravel riding, commuting or general leisure/pleasure? What exactly do you want from your new bike; speed, comfort or a little bit of both? We can also offer you a full bike fitting service and a saddle fitting service.

From this, head Chillian David Darby will then recommend the best bike for your specific requirements and upon which, we can then start to discuss the finer details such as crank length, cassette ratios etc. Your new Chilli will then be built specifically for you and of course, there will be no more expensive additions or add-ons. Perfect.
