I-Shaped Tapered Head Tube
The “I” is just the start of the aerodynamics behind FR1. With 1-1/8″ upper and 1-1/2″ lower bearings, tapered head tube designs are stiffer and stronger than conventional inline head tubes. Minimal flex at the front of the frame provides increased steering precision and accuracy.
Internal Cable Routing
Internally routed cables provide a clean, aerodynamic and sleek appearance while tucking cables away from external weather elements and so providing longer cable life expectancy. Added to this, FR1 actually has internal piping thus making inner cable changes fast and easy; so no more hunting around for cable holes.
Torayca T700/T800 High Modulus Uni-Directional Carbon
High modulus carbon is the basis for ultra-lightweight carbon frames and is the ultimate in terms of strength and lightness. Add to this, our Full Carbon Technology of which is a proprietary blend of Torayca T700 and T800 High Modulus Uni-Directional Carbon. This ensures the frameset is both light yet stiff, with precision handling and supreme levels of comfort.
Ultra Aero Design
A frameset of varying aerodynamic profiles, each designed and optimised to reduce wind resistance and therefore improve speed.
BB86 Bottom Bracket
BB86 is one of the very latest bottom bracket standards and provides increased stiffness and therefore better power transfer. BB86 frames have a bottom bracket shell width of 86.5mm with an internal diameter of 41mm. All chainsets from Shimano, Campagnolo, SRAM, ROTOR and FSA will fit BB86 with an appropriate bottom bracket.
Half Water-Drop Seat Tube
A key element of FR1’s aero credentials, is the half water-drop seat tube of which helps compress air flow, pushing the air downwards and outwards.
T-Tube Aero Fin
In combination with the Half Water-Drop Seat Tube, the T-Tube Aero-Fin provides supreme air flow across the top section of the bike and the fin compresses air flow downwards, greatly reducing turbulence.
Di2 / EPS Compatible
Use mechanical or electronic gear system. The frame is also supplied with a full “closed” Di2 kit to ensure a smooth appearance.
