Redchilli Bikes are delighted to announce that we will be sponsoring Finish Line Racing, an all new, Elite Women’s Race Team.
This marks a very exciting opportunity, as Redchilli will be supporting the team from its grass roots inception and hopefully right through to their long term main aim of UCI Pro status. During 2021 (with a certain virus aside) you should see Finish Line Racing competing at all the major, National Events across the UK and maybe even a few races in Europe and of course, they will be racing Redchilli.
So why are we backing the team at such an early stage? Well, why not. Nothing would exist today if nobody started in the first place. As a small brand, we know full well how so many people overlook “small.” So, Redchilli is fully committed and prepared to back FLR right from the start. Mind you, it does help with the fact that the team Directeur Sportif is Rick Lister, a position of which he has gained considerable experience. As a Directeur Sportif, Rick worked with Team WNT for two years prior to their UCI status. He has also worked with Team Ford EcoBoost, NJC-Biemme and later Campinense-Velo Performance, each year having great success and giving the big teams a run for their money. Rick told us:
“I like to think outside the box and see the potential in riders that others ignore. In 2019 I took a rider from local level racing to standing on the podium at the Curlew Cup in her first season of racing the National Series, I took a gamble with her and she repaid me by becoming a great team player who always gave 100%. My plan for 2021 is to have a team of 6 athletes who I can help learn the skills of racing and help them grow into great bike racers. I want to support them in the best possible way and grow the team year on year with the help of great sponsors and riders. Long term I can only see the sport getting more professional so with this in mind I would eventually like to take the team to pro status.”
So where has Rick’s experience come from? This is what Rick had to say:
We look forward to the journey…..
